shéi, not shway
「谁」读 shéi——sh 像英语 shoe 的开头，后面是往上爬的 éi。它是二声，所以要往上走。
字典和歌里你也会看到 shuí。同一个字，是更老的读法。说 shéi，就跟你身边所有人一样。
谁 is shéi — sh- like the English shoe, then a rising éi that ends where 诶 ends. It climbs, the way the second tone always does.
You will also see shuí in dictionaries and songs. Same character, older reading. Say shéi and you will sound like everyone around you.

八张你认识的脸。先问「他是谁」，再用名字回答。

he, him
形形声 · 一半意思一半读音
左边的「亻」说明这跟人有关，就是「吗」那一课里被压扁的「人」。右边的「也」当初是放在那里表音的。这个音后来跑得很远——「也」读 yě，「他」读 tā——但这两个部件还是一起走。
she, her
形形声 · 一半意思一半读音
把「人」换成「女」，就是 she。说出来「他」和「她」一模一样——都读 tā——中文只在写的时候区分。这跟英语正好相反：he 和 she 听起来不一样，写出来也不一样。
the plural mark
形形声 · 一半意思一半读音
「亻」表示人，「门」mén 表音——这一次音一点也没跑：「门」读 mén，「们」读 men，只是轻一些。贴在一个人后面就变成不止一个——我们、你们、他们。
