Both come straight out of the paragraphs you just read.
Grammar
根本 — not at all
根本 goes before a negative and makes it absolute: not in the slightest.
Subject + 根本 + 不/没 + verb
e.g. 根本不是偶遇。 / 我根本不认识他。 / 这根本不可能。
根本放在否定前面，表示“完全、彻底”，语气很重。
主语 ＋ 根本 ＋ 不／没 ＋ 动词
例：根本不是偶遇。／我根本不认识他。／这根本不可能。
Grammar
反而 — instead, the opposite
反而 introduces the opposite of what you expected, often after 不但没/不但不.
e.g. 车子没有停在景点，反而开到了一家超市。 / 他不但没生气，反而笑了。
反而表示和你想的相反，常常跟“不但没／不但不”一起用。
例：车子没有停在景点，反而开到了一家超市。／他不但没生气，反而笑了。
